Brighton is a part of the UK with a unique appeal. Thanks to a combination of warm weather, surf, culture, and history that can’t be found anywhere else in the country, or even the world.
Known as the beach capital of England, Brighton is a gorgeous sea side town located in the southern part of Britain. The seaside pier and Brighton beach are the most popular tourist attraction. However, the truth is it overshadows some of the unique things that you can explore in Brighton.

If you’re fortunate enough to live in or near Brighton, you will know that there are still plenty of secrets waiting to be unearthed.
With trains running regularly between Brighton and nearby Hove, you can cover a lot of ground in a short space of time. So, what’s worth visiting? Here’s our list of top 5 unique things to do in Brighton that are not beach and pier.
Unique things to do in Brighton
Spa & Sauna
The seafront in Brighton is home to a unique beach-box sauna, which makes a great match for summertime visits. It’s to be found on Madeira Drive, with an excellent view of the surrounding seafront. You might spend two hours here, or even longer. There’s a plunge pool for cold water therapy, too, as well as a warming wood fire.
Crazy golf and carnival games
There’s no shortage of traditional carnival games in Brighton, as well as a few non-traditional ones, too. If you’ve got some time to spare, you might check out Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf, which will take you through two eighteen-hole golf courses. On the other hand, there’s Brighton Beach Crazy Golf, or Globalls – which provides you with the chance to practice your putting in the dark. The glow of the UV lamps will help you to see where you’re going, making this a golf experience unlike any other.
Visit the upside-down house
A favourite among tourists, this is a house where everything is upside-down. It’s a wonderful chance to impress your friends with amusing photographs of yourself standing on the ceiling, defying gravity. Just make sure that you flip the photos or your camera.
Laugh Alive and Love Chocolate
This collection of activities makes a great match for hen parties and team-building events. Participants will go through a gym session for what’s called ‘laughter yoga’ – this being a therapeutic session where you’ll be encouraged to laugh as much as possible. The other part of the combination is a chocolate-making workshop, where you’ll be given the guidance you need to come up with a range of tasty little nibbles.
The Royal Pavillion
It’s among the city’s best-known attractions, but it’s also the most distinctive. There are no other buildings in the UK quite like this one, which was constructed as a seaside retreat for George IV before he became king. The design is heavily influenced by Mughal and Islamic architecture, and as such makes an excellent fit for the open, cosmopolitan culture of the city. If you have even the slightest interest in history, it’s worth visiting!

One is spoilt with choices when it comes to stays in Brighton. There’s every variety of hotels in every price range you can imagine.
