Lake District National Park, one of the largest national parks in England, is a a piece of heaven in UK. To believe this statement, you need to go visit and experience them. And the fact that Lake District is our first choice for any weekend getaway is a testimony to how much we love them, despite being there countless number of times. The rolling hills, the winding roads, sleepy. villages and breathtaking lakes have long mesmerized not only the famous poets, but also common people who fall in love with nature.

We stayed at Low Wood Bay Resort Hotel during our most recent trip to Lake District and we both are in consensus when we say that the stay was something we can never forget. The hotel, part of English Lakes Hotel Resorts, is a four star family resort hotel that sits along the shore overlooking the tranquil Windermere lake. There’s a garden area near the lake (opposite to the hotel) that belongs to Low Wood Bay Resort which is great for relaxing, picnicking or for kids to play.
Low Wood Bay is a great choice for any kind of holiday goers considering the wide variety of services they offer ranging from restaurants, bars, leisure club, beauty salon and water sports centre, we are spoilt with choices!

Inside Low Woods Bay Resort Hotel
The Room
The rooms are beautifully furnished, and our room featured the ergonomic waterbed, chandelier, TV, coffee making facilities, bathtub, other basic amenities and a breathtaking view of the Windermere lake. The waterbed was really comfortable and pretty awesome. We loved it!
The Low Wood Bay Resort Hotel know how to add a touch to customer’s experience. We noticed them in every little things they did. The welcome notes, chocolate goodies (who wouldn’t love them?), Belgian biscuits and cakes. You know you are treated specially when the coffee sachets in the room included Rington’s Kenya Cafeterie, Hot Chocolate, and a selection of Teas rather than the usual boring Nescafe sachets! Almost attention to detail has gone into providing these little things to keep customer happy!
And talking about the views of the room, we sat hours watching the sunset scenes as the dawn was overtaken by the dark sky. The mountain and lake were shimmering during the golden hour, a sight one can cherish for the rest of their life time. And for someone who loves (and sometimes chases sunsets!) this was pretty easy win not having to walk or drive anywhere, but just sit inside the cosy room and watch the sun go down!
The Windermere Restaurant
The dining room was one of the most beautifully decorated rooms with vibrant art work and oak wood panelling. Our 3 course dinner was very good, although heavy enough that we had to skip the dessert. We had bread crumbed, deep fried Camembert accompanied by fresh salad and cranberry sauce & vegetarian Risotto for starters. For the main course we had Falafel burger and chips & Spicy five bean chilli with brown rice. The portions were very good!
Leisure Facilities
Low Wood Bay’s Leisure Club offers a lot of facilities, all under one roof, ranging from Swimming Pool, Sauna & Steam room, Beauty Salon, Gym with qualified instructors & Squash courts. The pool is a spacious large area with high ceiling, and designed to allow all kind of swimmers. There’s also an outdoor hot-tub that one can enjoy at the lap of nature.
Watersports Centre
Yet another great advantage of staying in Low Wood Bay is its easy accessibility to its watersports centre that offer variety of sports, along with instructions and hire options. Be it Canoeing, Kayaking, Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Powerboating, or simply hiring motor boats or row boats! The centre also has free car parking, changing & shower room and equipment hire.
Conclusion
Overall, Low Wood Bay is an ideal luxury hotel for all seasons, all occasions and tourists of all ages. Its ideal location and diverse facilities are more of a unquestionable reason to why one should choose to stay here. Wouldn’t you love waking up to this view? Lowwood is a gorgeous hotel and has some great food. I used to live down on lake Windermere when working at an outdoor centre. The lake district is just magical
