Capture the Color 2013

Capture the Color is a photo-blogging contest created by Travel Supermarket. The idea behind this post is to publish 5 travel photographs that best captures 5 different color categories – Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White. And nominate 5 other bloggers for this competition.  For rest of the rules, read here. Thanks to Renu from Voyager for Life for nominating us for this contest.  Else, we’d not have known about this contest at all.
Presenting our entries for this contest.  Hope you enjoy them.
A Mannequin doll in Flemenco Dress, Seville, Spain

RED:
Throughout our travel in Spain, we noticed a lot of similar mannequin dolls along roadside shops.  Flemenco is a form of folk dance style originated from Southern Spain of Andalucia, and most of the dancers come dressed up in this wavy style clothes predominantly in Red color.
Marsaxlokk fishing village in Malta
BLUE
Situated in the middle of Mediterranean Sea, Malta is one of the most beautiful countries that best describes azure blue. Marsaxlokk is a tiny fishing village located in south-eastern part of Malta.
Winnet’s Pass in Peak District National Park, England
GREEN:
Want to see some magnificent limestone formations, drive down to Winnet’s Pass (near Castleton). A lot of care needs to be taken while driving down this road since it is narrow and comes with lot of blind spots.  Rest assured, you’ll have one of the best views as you walk or drive around the winding roads of Winnets.
A traditional fishing boat in Malta
YELLOW:
Known as Luzzu, these traditional fishing boats are brightly painted and the bow is usually pointed with a pair of eyes known as Eye of Orisis. The eye is believed to protect fishermen from any harm while they’re on sea and hence it’s painted in all the Maltese boats.
Snow capped Pentland Hills in Edinburgh, Scotland
WHITE:
What better to represent white than snow! Pentland Hill range runs about 20 miles in length towards south-west of Edinburgh.  A leafless tree standing in front of a frozen reservoir with a backdrop of snow clad hills simply made a fantastic photographic opportunity.
So there we are, done with 5 travel pictures which are close to our heart. It’s now time to nominate 5 bloggers, and without much delay, here they are!

PS: The competition closes on the midnight of 9th October (GMT).
